FYI: The original wiki was set to be shut down and the Official Moonless Age wiki was largely mirrored to this fandom-based version, though most of the reference images had not yet been copied over. While the old wiki was then lost in its entirety when the server was among the many taken down by a massive series of cyberattacks on data centers during early February 2023, it has since been recreated in an updated form that also supports Kern/Kite's new project, Hel. Feel free to give those a look.

As such, this incomplete mirror is largely going to be abandoned, though anyone is free to maintain it separately if they wish.

The Nuqrah'Shareh Civil War began as an uprising of refugees suffering from a food crisis in the city. It escalated when Balsii Val'Illhar'dro, former custodian of the Val'Illhar'dro holdings in Nuqrah'sareh, attempted to depose her cousin and Ill'haress Nega'fanea Val'Illhar'dro. With the aid of Zala'ess Vel'Sharen and her brood, the city is taken back but an ancient weapon is stolen.

Major Influences[]

The Nidraa'Chal Conspiracy[]

Snadhya'runes Vel'Sharen created a secret society known as the Nidraa'chal to forward her own plans of changing the Underworld. The group formed a clan by the same name, made up of tainted Nether-worshippers, to distract the Val'Sharen clan during The Vel'Sharen Coup de'Etat. With the end of the Nidraa'chal War went the rebel clan, or so many thought. In reality, Snadhya'runes' agents are made up of members of nearly every clan. For the Illhar'dro, this includes the likes of Shodun Val'Illhar'dro

1099-1114 – The Clans War[]

Main article: The District War

During the ensuing 15 years since Zala'ess' Power Play, the war between the Vel'Sharen and Val'Sarghress finally went hot. The Illhar'dro eventually left Chel'el'sussoloth for Nuqrah'shareh, keeping only a small outpost in the Imperial City. This move placed Ill'haress Nega'fanea in charge of Nuqrah'shareh proper and pushed Balsii out of the position she had held for decades. As refugees from Chel'el'sussoloth began to pour into Nuqrah'shareh and caused problems with food and housing shortages, Balsii began to resent the Val'Raveran-born queen of her clan. Further, refugees that arrived bore ideals from the Sarghress about the oppression of the Vals, and they began to see the Illhar'dro in palaces living comfortably while the poor scraped by in the streets.

Event Timeline[]

14th day of the 6th Moon 1114 – Balsii's Coup[]

A well organized attack on the Illhar'do Isle in the middle of the city's lake was initiated by rebels lead by Chelian mercenaries. At the time of the event, Ill'haress Nega'fanea was in a meeting in the Guest Palace with ambassador Quian Jie'yen of the Jie'yen clan and Matriarch Agneya'mukhi Balvhakara of the Balvhakara clan, discussing the civil unrest growing in the city. Sandaur'recherrai Val'Illhar'dro attempted to inform the Ill'haress of the outside influence, but they were cut short by Balsii initiating her coup, despite lacking support of the other two clans, and injuring Nega'fanea. Sanduar attempted to protect his queen, but was killed by Shodun.

Nega'fanea managed to escape with Agneya'mukhi when two Balvhakara guards on the roof rescued them. Quian was taken captive, along with many of the students that Sanduar was trying to protect and Jhal'na Val'Illhar'dro.

19th day of the 6th Moon 1114 – Zala'ess' Line Arrives[]

Three days after the start of the war, part of Zala'ess Ve'Sharen's lineage arrived at the Wailing Well on a mission to seek Illhar'dro support.[1] There they met with Sara'hilana Balvhakara and learned of the events in Nuqrah'shareh. Two days later, on the 19th, they arrived in the city to see the effects of the civil war, and were escorted to the Jie'yen compound by Dusk troops lead by Craft Lumesowa Dusk. There Zala'ess revealed that Diva'ratrika Val'Sharen was dead and that she had named herself Val'Sharess. She then asked Nega'fanea for the Illhar'dro's backing of her claim over her sisters, Sarv'swati and Snadhya'runes, as well as access to an ancient weapon that the Illhar'dro had discovered. Nega'fanea implied that if the Sharen aided her in her city's and clan's issues then she would accept an alliance with Zala'ess. A plan began to form on how to take back the Illhar'dro Isle and free Balsii's hostages.

19th day of the 6th Moon 1114 – The Battle for the Isle[]

The Sharen, Balvhakara, and Jie'yen launched an immediate surprise attack on the Illhar'dro Defector forces at the Illhar'dro Isle. The Sharen and Balvhakara acted as the main infantry while a Jie'yen team slipped into the palace to free the hostages that Balsii had taken. At some point in the battle nether gates were opened, infecting the Defectors and slowing down the troops. Sharen forces began sealing them, with Duskian troops showing up later to finish clearing demons from the area. These gates were revealed to have been opened by Shodun.

Chrys'tel and Nau'kheol stole into the High Palace to try and capture Balsii. Unfortunately, they were waylayed by an insane Shen'fya Val'Illhar'dro, who attempted to use a summon much too strong for a single summoner alone and was killed in the process; this summon is later given to the Sharen.[2] Balsii however managed to escape to the forward Bridge Camp to attempt to rally Commander Rei'shiid Recherrai Val'Illhar'dro for a counterattack. However, the Commander instead convinced Balsii to give herself up and keep the clan from tearing itself apart further. Balsii did so and bartered her life for revealing who had backed her coup.

22nd of the 6th Moon 1114 – Battle for the Lower City[]

The rebelling refugees still held the Lower City of Nuqrah'shareh and appeared to be resistant to any attempts at placation, even those by spellsong. Chrys'tel and Nau'kheol were charged with infiltrating the area and disabling a Whispering Tower so that the coming attack from the Coalition would not be announced to other Rebel-controlled areas. Accompanying them were Sara'hilana, An'jin Jie'yen, and Craft.

At the tower they discovered a war golem, as well as a group of departing Val'Sullisin'rune empaths. After encountering the copilot, who was immediately executed by Craft, the group takes on the golem, letting the remaining pilot drain the golem's cores as Sara'hilana takes out the tower. Coalition troops move into the area.

26th day of the 6th Moon 1114 – The Ancient Weapon[]

The rebelling commoners have lost ground and were almost defeated. Zala'ess called her children together to complete a secret mission – to enter the only working lift to the Surface and steal the secret, ancient weapon that the Rebel holdouts were attempting to claim. Chrys'tel, Nau'kheol, Yami'ni Vel'Sharen, Jiaan, and Quar'imar entered the lift to take back the weapon before the Illhar'dro resorted to destroying everything to keep the weapon from the wrong hands.

During their infiltration, the group noted more empath activity, and that the rebels seemed to be trying to move the weapon to the Surface while making it operational. They stumbled upon the Sullisin'rune, and Yami'ni is killed. Leaving behind a wrathful Jiaan, the remaining three jumped from the lift as the Illhar'dro barrage began. The weapon, an ancient airship, was unharmed and flew on to the colonies above.

Aftermath[]

1st day of the 7th Moon 1114 – Saosh Colony[]

Once the Trader Isle Lift was functioning again, patrols were dispatched to the Surface. There, they discovered Saosh Colony had been bombarded by the retreating airship. Further, the caravans that were meant to bring supplies to the refugees to stave off a rebellion were found destroyed, raided by what appeared to be Sarghress troops.

Now that the Sullisin'rune and Sarghress have been implicated to have cause the war in the first place, the clans of Nuqrah'shareh have joined up with the Sharen in an alliance. Forces from the clans of the Illhar'dro, Balvhakara, and Jie'yen marched to Chel'el'sussoloth with Zala'ess' line to assist in fighting the Sarghress front and bolster Zala'ess' claim to the throne.[3] The Nidraa'chal remain undiscovered for their role in these affairs.

7th day of the 7th Moon 1114 – Felde[]

On the morning of the 7th day, Ariel Val'Sarghress and other members of her squad spotted an airship flying over the colony of Ys, heading in the direction of the city of Felde.[4]

The Nidraa'chal have acquired the airship for their own purposes. It is turned over to Snadhya'runes at her estate party.
